Patient motion during examinations causes artefacts and significantly reduces the quality of the captured imagery, making them nondiagnostic. As such, over the last decade there have been numerous attempts to tackle motion tracking and correction with limited success and currently a functional clinical tool that verifies detection of movement during a scan does not exist.
